Changer of Days

Jess: The first half of "The Hidden Queen" took me a while to get through.  The narrative jumps around a lot, which could get frustrating, but at the same time is completely fresh in a way.  So far its an interesting twist in the "missing heir" kind of book, not the usual in any way. The second half really gains speed, and now I can't wait for the next one. It seems as there are the seeds of romance building in the first book, but we'll have to wait and see what happens in the second. For lovers of political intrigue, here's your book, but I could easily recommend this to any fantasy lover. Changer of Days (gorgeous cover, right?) is due out in the beginning of June, and I'll update as soon as I read it. 5/16/05

Changer of Days Update: Fabulous end to the series. Anghara returns to her home only to be immediately captured and loses her gift. But her reappearance is marked by friends, and the ball begins to roll. The story is well-paced, but occasionally confusing. The characters are well-formed and multi-faceted, and the worlds are so real you can almost taste them. I hope to see more books by Alexander in the future. Jess- 5/30/05
