Exiles of Boq'urain Jess: First, a quick warning- this book is very violent. So if you don't like reading about war crimes, crimes against women, etc., steer clear from this. If you're not so sure, or you don't mind as much, this book is worth dealing with all of that. More of a character-oriented novel than what has been out lately, a group of misfits find themselves together to combat one incredibly nasty villain (one of the best I've read, ever). When I first picked this book up I almost put it down from the ridiculously confusing names. It gets better though, and most of the names you are introduced to in the first chapter never come back. This book is definitely a page-turner, with plenty of action, mystery, and romance to keep you hanging on every word. This is a must-read for any kind of fantasy lover, and I'm thoroughly looking forward to the next installment. 9/05/05 NEWS: The second book, "Winds of Vengeance," and the third book, "Flames of Chaos," have no release dates yet. |
