Jess: In the beginning of this book, I almost put it down. It seemed off somehow. The plot was haphazard, the main character Angarred was goofy, and it didn't seem very interesting. I kept going, however, and I'm glad I did. It has all the prerequisites- romance, magic, and political intrigue, and Glass' writing style helps set "Daughter of Exile" apart. All the loose ends are tied (no cliffhanger ending), but she leaves enough out there so "Divided Crown" looks promising. I can't find any real faults with it, even though its not the best I've read (missing that key something I still can't pin down), and I found it very enjoyable. 6/4/05 NEWS:
"The Divided Crown" was released in hardcover in July. |
