Jess: Deborah Hale's "The Wizard's Ward" is an enjoyable romantic fantasy read. At times it is a little campy and predictable, but if you expect some of this with a romance novel, it shouldn't be a problem. The sexual tension between the main characters prevented me from putting this book down, but the plot kept me from getting frustrated by it. Sometimes there's nothing better than curling up with a cute little romance, and if its of the fantasy kind, the better. If that's what you're in the mood for, "Wizard's Ward" will do the trick nicely. 7/25/05 NEWS: "The Destined Queen," the sequel to "Wizard's Ward," is currently available in trade paperback ("Ward" is out in mass market paperback).
